SHELLEY 'ANKLE BITER' JOFRE IS AT THEM AGAIN...THIS TIME IT'S AVANDIA

Image: BBC

Panorama's crack investigative journalist, Shelley Jofre, is nipping hard at the heels of GlaxoSmithKline and the MHRA again, this time she investigates yet another of their controversial medicines, Avandia.

The blurb from the BBC website reads:

We're in the grip of a diabetes epidemic. The NHS spent more than half a billion pounds on medication for it in 2009. Patients trust that these drugs are safe, but does one come with a hidden cost to health? Shelley Jofre investigates the rise and fall of Avandia, until recently one of the UK's best-selling diabetes drugs, and asks whether the medicines' regulator is putting the interests of the drugs industry before patients.

The show airs in the UK on Monday Sept 6th [BBC One]

I wonder if Alasdair Brekenridge or Alistair Benbow will make an appearance this time around? [LINK]
